Do you have current first-aid training? Would you know what to do in an emergency situation?
Emergency First Response (EFR) is a PADI-affiliated course that teaches these lifesaving skills — and they’re for anyone, not just divers! But while everyone can learn these vital skills, they’re the perfect complement to our other dive courses in Grand Cayman.
With EFR training you will learn serious medical emergency response skills in an upbeat, positive environment. You will gain the knowledge and confidence to help out in an emergency.
On the EFR First Aid Course in Grand Cayman, you will learn:
Our Grand Cayman EFR First Aid course takes place over one day and generally lasts for six to eight hours, depending on class size and student progression.
Whilst the Emergency First Response course is a required certification for the PADI Rescue Diver course, many people find the skills they learn during this course important and invaluable to everyday life.
The class involves watching the Emergency First Response Primary & Secondary Care DVD, followed by a practical session with your instructor. During this session, you will practice different skills for dealing with real-life emergencies such as CPR, rescue breathing, and using an AED (Automated External Defibrillator). A multiple-choice exam then finishes the course. Upon completion, you will receive a certification card valid for two years.
