Grand Cayman has no shortage of incredible places to visit, but two stand out as absolute must-sees: Stingray City and Rum Point. And with Red Sail Sports, you can experience both in a single relaxed day on the water!
Our Rum Point & Stingray City Sail in Grand Cayman combines the thrill of meeting the famous stingrays with the laid-back charm of Rum Point. The result is a perfect balance of adventure and Caribbean downtime — ideal for couples, families, and anyone who wants to see two iconic Cayman attractions in one trip.
Here’s what the day looks like when you step aboard…

Departing from Safehaven Marina
The adventure begins at Safehaven Marina on Grand Cayman’s Seven Mile Beach. The tour departs at 10:00 a.m. and runs for 5.5 hours, with complimentary transfers available from select Seven Mile Beach hotels.
After checking in with our team, you’ll board one of our spacious sailing catamarans and get settled for the journey across the North Sound. Our catamarans are designed for comfort, with plenty of deck space, shaded seating, and restrooms on board. There’s also a fully licensed bar where you can purchase drinks during the sail.
Before departure, our crew provides a quick welcome and safety briefing. Then it’s time to set off across the calm, clear waters of the North Sound toward your first stop — Stingray City.
(If you’re still deciding whether this famous sandbar belongs on your itinerary, our blog on whether Stingray City in Grand Cayman is worth the visit will give you a closer look at why it’s one of the island’s most beloved experiences!)
Visiting the Famous Stingray City Sandbar
Your first destination is the world-renowned Stingray City sandbar, one of the Cayman Islands’ most unique locations.
This shallow sandbar sits in the middle of the North Sound and is home to dozens of wild southern stingrays. For decades, these curious animals have gathered here and have become accustomed to the presence of people, creating an unforgettable opportunity for visitors to interact with them in their natural environment.
When we arrive, our crew will guide you into the shallow water and show you exactly how to interact safely and respectfully with the stingrays. The water is typically waist-deep, making it accessible for most guests.
Many visitors are surprised by how friendly these animals are. They glide gracefully through the water and often approach guests out of curiosity. During your time here, you’ll have the chance to touch them, hold them, and pose for photos. And if you’re feeling adventurous, you might even try the famous stingray “kiss” said to bring seven years of good luck!If you’re curious about the experience before your trip, you can also read our guide onhow safe it is to swim with stingrays in Stingray City.

Sailing Across the North Sound
After your time with the stingrays, everyone climbs back aboard the catamaran and we set sail once again.
This portion of the journey takes you across the North Sound toward Rum Point on Grand Cayman’s quieter North Side. The sail is smooth and scenic, giving you time to relax, grab a drink from the bar, and take in the views.
Many guests choose to stretch out on the front nets of the catamaran or chat with the crew as we make our way across the water. Our team loves sharing stories about Cayman’s marine life, sailing traditions, and the places you’ll see along the way. It’s a laid-back part of the trip that really captures the Caribbean sailing experience!

Two Hours to Enjoy Rum Point
When we arrive at Rum Point Club, you’ll have around two hours to enjoy one of the island’s most iconic beach destinations. Far from the bustle of Seven Mile Beach, Rum Point is known for its calm water, soft white sand, and relaxed island atmosphere.
Many guests head straight to the Rum Deck for lunch or a tropical drink (lunch is not included in the tour). Others prefer to relax in the shade, swim in the clear water, or simply wander along the beach. Rum Point is also famous for its Mudslide cocktail, which was first created here decades ago. Trying one while overlooking the water is practically a Cayman tradition!
If you’re feeling more active, you can take advantage of even more beach activities during your visit. Guests on our tour receive 50% off non-motorised beach toy rentals, making it easy to get out on the water with kayaks or paddleboards! After some fun in the sun, we return to the Safehaven Marina.
